Painting and home decoration have been longtime interests of mine. One of my passions is in semi-precious stones and in creating fine art jewellery. I have been an educator-trainer-counsellor for several years while at the same time pursuing my drawing and painting passion.
My art background includes oil, acrylic, pastel and watercolour painting, pencil and charcoal drawing as well as frescoes. I love painting on wood, canvas, paper, ceramic, glass and pebbles. I have also applied natural pigments, egg and gold leaf or liquid gold on copies of Byzantine icons including antique style technique.
Over the years, I completed Art Training in the USA and Canada, Mosaic Art in Italy, and Art Conservation-Restoration Studies in Greece. In that regard, I owe much to various institutes such as the Art Students League of New York and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, the Department of Art Conservationin Athens, the Mosaic Art School in Ravenna as well as the Canadian Gemmological Association in Toronto. I have also been trained in Byzantine Painting. Then I have established a registered art studio. My applied knowledge has been continually expanded through a variety of art projects.
Classical aesthetics, the beauty of ancient and modern world, natural light and the ocean blue have all captivated my artistic creations. My art portfolio is influenced by my life experiences, travels and the value of our earth. Inspiring people and offering joy and peace in their lives is my main aim.
Special gifts such as decorative items, drawings, paintings, mosaics, handmade books and notebooks, bookmarks, mirrors, trays, treasure boxes and necklaces/bracelets are part of my artistic creations. In addition, I have offered lectures or workshops on Art, Art History, Art Conservation and Restoration, Philosophy of Art, Psychology of Artand more specialized art topics.
